Journey · Hunza, Nagar, Gojal (Upper Hunza)
Photo: Alllexxxis · CC BY-SA 4.0
From mid-October the valleys of Hunza and Nagar change colour. Poplars turn gold, apricot and cherry orchards go red and orange, and the snow line creeps down the peaks. Skies are often clear and the summer crowds have gone.
The route is designed around light: early mornings and late afternoons at viewpoints, an overnight in Duikar for sunrise, and unhurried days so photographers can wait for conditions rather than chase them.
