Overview
Naltar is a forested side valley north of Gilgit, known for its alpine meadows, glacial streams and coloured lakes in summer and for skiing in winter. Nagar faces Hunza across the river and looks straight up at Rakaposhi and the glaciers around Hopper.
Together they make a compact six-day journey that avoids the busiest stops while still giving big mountain views. It suits travellers who have seen Hunza already, or who want a short trip from Gilgit.

Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Gilgit
Arrival and briefing.
Overnight: Gilgit
Day 2
Gilgit to Naltar
Jeep up into the Naltar valley. Timing varies with road and weather conditions.
Overnight: Naltar
Day 3
Naltar lakes and forest
Upper valley lakes and forest walks.
Overnight: Naltar
Day 4
Naltar to Nagar
Back to the Karakoram Highway and north into Nagar, stopping at the Rakaposhi viewpoint.
Overnight: Nagar (Hopper area) or Karimabad
Day 5
Hopper
Viewpoints over the Hopper Glacier and walks around the Nagar villages.
Overnight: Nagar (Hopper area) or Karimabad
Day 6
Return to Gilgit
Drive to Gilgit for onward travel.
