Location scouting in Gilgit-Baltistan

A location that looks perfect in a photograph may be a full day's drive from the nearest room, or in shadow by mid-afternoon. A scouting trip lets a small team check light, access and practicalities first-hand.
The team plans a compact route through the candidate valleys with a 4x4 and a local guide who knows the side roads, so the scout can see as many options as possible within the time available.

Planning information

- Allow for slow driving times on mountain roads
