Phander to the Shandur Pass

Shandur is the high pass at the western end of the Gilgit–Shandur road, roughly 212–216 km from Gilgit and best known for its polo ground. From Phander, the road climbs past Teru to the open plateau at around 3,700–3,800 m. Beyond the pass the road continues into Chitral, but this concept stops at Shandur and returns to Phander.

It is the longest and most remote ride in Ghizer, with rougher surfaces in the upper valley and snow at the top outside summer. The pass is closed in winter. Timing varies with road and weather conditions.
