Skardu to Deosai

Deosai is a vast high plateau averaging about 4,100 m, roughly 30 km from Skardu by its most direct route via Sadpara. The Balti name translates as a 'summer place', and that is the only time it can be reached: snow covers the plains for much of the year.

This concept is an out-and-back from Skardu: climb past Sadpara onto the plateau, ride across towards Sheosar Lake on the western side if conditions allow, and return to Skardu. Rain and landslides have closed the Skardu–Deosai road in recent summers, so the plan needs flexibility. Timing varies with road and weather conditions.
