Overview
Pastore Peak rises close to the upper Baltoro near K2 and Broad Peak. International operators present it as a bridge between trekking and alpine mountaineering, and high-altitude climbers use it for acclimatisation from K2 base camp.
Operator notes describe a route that follows fixed lines with possible roped glacier travel, depending on conditions. It is usually combined with the Baltoro approach and a visit to K2 Base Camp, sometimes returning over the Gondogoro La.
It is included as a candidate because it is one of the most frequently offered summits near 6,000 m in the Baltoro. At about 6,200 m it sits slightly above the business's usual ceiling.

Days 1–2
Islamabad: briefing and onward travel to Skardu
Timing varies with flights, road and weather conditions.

Skardu: preparation and equipment check
Day 4
Jeep through Shigar to Askole
Days 5–11
Trek up the Baltoro Glacier to Concordia, including acclimatisation days
Highest point: 4,745 m
Days 12–13
Move towards the K2/Broad Peak base-camp area
Days 14–16
Base camp: rest, skills practice and acclimatisation rotation
Days 17–20
Summit window and weather/reserve days
Days 21–25
Return down the Baltoro (or via Gondogoro La to Hushe if conditions allow) and drive to Skardu

Important notes and restrictions
- Permits: official climbing and trekking permits are issued through the Gilgit-Baltistan Tourism Department (applications normally go via a registered tour operator). TKO does not issue permits. Royalty, permit, fee and insurance rules are regulatory information that changes and must be confirmed before publication.
- Secondary sources (CKNP visitor information, ExplorersWeb, operator pages) indicate peaks below 6,500 m have generally needed a trekking permit/fee rather than a full mountaineering permit with royalty and liaison officer. Sources conflict; confirm the current rule with the GB Tourism Department.
- Insurance: travellers would need cover that explicitly includes mountaineering at this altitude and helicopter rescue in Pakistan; generic travel cover usually does not. Confirm current requirements before publication.
- Central Karakoram National Park: secondary sources describe a core zone (including the Baltoro and the Hushe approaches) needing a park/trekking permit, registered porters and guides, and no solo travel. Confirm current rules.
- Gondogoro La crossings reportedly require a certified guide and depend on conditions.
